I love that you can see people and trains on the platform at the next station when looking through the tunnel at Canada Water London Overground Station.

Photo of dancer Andreya in the beautifully restored Grade II listed Crystal Palace Subway.
It was designed by Charles Barry Jr & first opened in 1865. The subway provided a direct access to the Crystal Palace for first-class rail passengers.
My kids love waving at train drivers, they get so excited.
I've also been told by drivers that they also enjoy being waved at, sometimes it even makes their day!
Some impressions of Zagreb's main station: there are these signs that you must not cross the tracks which everybody litterally ignores, but the funniest part was this staff guy running from the station building & crossing the fences parkour style to whistle the next departure.

Corrour #railway station in #Scotland is apparently the most remote train station in the UK, and is unreachable by road. You can rent the old switching house, which has been converted into a small apartment, and sleep between the north/southbound tracks with a 360 degree view.
There’s a small restaurant, WiFi, running water, all that.
The Caledonian Sleeper makes a stop there and you can be in London by the morning

I usually drive newer electric classes (Sr2 and Sr3) and I prefer those over these. But variety is good I guess.
The second engine is no. 3111 which is in fact built in Finland from a spare chassis and spate parts. The class itself is from Soviet Union, with some western components.
A year ago, it was a gloriously steamy day in the otherwise very dry high desert of Ely, Nevada. A good rain storm really makes a difference!
Nevada Northern Railway, Ely, Nevada (4/26/2025). These old engines were used to haul copper ore from the Ruth Mine on the west side of Ely to smelters in McGill, northeast of Ely. The trains, railway, & machine shop are fully operational & appear to the visitor as frozen in time from the early 20th century. I stop there every time I pass through town. Visitors can ride trains & be the engineer, but I prefer to roam around the yard & machine shop.
The re-nationalisation of British passenger rail is starting off with the most important stuff: the revival of the British Rail ‘hot dog’ symbol from the 50s.
