@old_hippie @pmonks

that's exactly what has to happen

#MAGA devoured the #GOP

now the #left must devour the #Democrats

only then can we get movement on things like #rankedChoiceVoting #rcv where we get viable third parties

with ranked choice and stable third parties we get to vote our conscience free and clear for once in this damn country

rather than this endless insipid need for strategy in #fptp voting, compromising to #centrist bullshit that saps the will and the passion

#NH #HB600 is on calendar for 2/18 in the Election committee!!

I support ranked choice voting because it’s a cost effective, common sense method that gives voters more choice and more voice in our elections.  RCV reduces polarization and negative campaigning; it allows for robust competition by eliminating the problems of vote-splitting and strategic voting, and it lets voters better express their preferences to elect the candidates who the most voters support.

Please consider supporting this bill. If the Democrats are really the best choice they shouldn’t be living in fear of ranked choice voting. If anything it would make them more accountable to their voters.

"FairVote Illinois is [...] focused on rallying as much support for ranked choice as it can in the hopes it can pressure elected officials into acting." - Chicago Tribune

"'If we get shot down (and) the court keeps shooting it down, we’re still going to keep fighting it.' [. . .] If it ends up that legislative changes are needed to move the needle, 'then we’re gonna fight to get the law changed.'" - Abigail Drumm, policy lead for FairVote Illinois

I know people don’t like to put their information in these online petitions, but it would be really great if we could get some ranked choice voting in New Hampshire.

I’m really struggling with supporting a grassroots organization that put their page on Twitter and that added a Facebook thumbs up to their website for tracking, but these assholes keep telling me not to let perfect be the enemy of good. I’m not sure that relying on Facebook and Twitter is particularly good, but we do need ranked choice voting.

Fairvote Canada just sent a very tone deaf email bashing Ranked Choice. I wish they would just say “It’s not good enough for Canada’s multi-party democracy, but in America’s oppressive duopoly it’s an improvement”
Instead they’re so intensely focused on the messaging that “it’s bad” so Canada doesn’t adopt it, that I’m pretty sure some Canadians undermine American reform efforts.
Just say “#RCV is American”, that usually works here. Not even joking. It would do both countries a favour.

Waiting for #Alaska #Prop2 count to come in is a real nail biter. It's taking so long!
I'll be gutted if #RCV takes a step backwards and loses this hard won state.
It takes years to implement the reform and republicans swept the state so the fear-mongering about "turning the state blue" was obviously a lie.
