My butterfly amaryllis this morning.
I raised this amaryllis from a small bulb I purchased 4 yrs ago. I wasn't sure if it was ever going to bloom but amaryllis foliage s quite lovely on its own.
Definitely worth the wait
It's time for another obscure cultivar hunt! Have you seen or heard of Tradescantia pallida 'Edge of Night'?
The description and photos show pale green leaf undersides, and purple tops with a green border. This seems very similar to 'Shadow Hill', but the flowers are slightly different - the petals have the more typical wide rounded shape of other pallida cultivars.
New instance, so time for a re #introduction post!
Hi all, I'm Phillip! I just moved from infosec.exchange (I still love you Jerry
) I'm a 20-something guy living with my gf somewhere in the U.S. unfortunately.
Professionally, I am a solo #it admin/automation engineer at a smaller company.
Unprofessionally, I am into #discgolf, #music, #reading, #houseplants, #homelab, #gaming, #SmallWeb, and more. Check out my omg.lol page in my bio if you'd like. Feel free to say hi!
#Introduction
I am here because I try to stop using the platforms of megalomanic oligarchs whose only two principles are money and power.
I like #frogs, #plants (in particular less common #houseplants), #photography, and people who respect each other regardless of background. I think I will post mostly in English, but it would be nice to meet other Swedes here, and perhaps even people from #umeå.
Let's see how things develop...
Took my house plants outside for some repotting, deep water and outside breeze. They love it! #housePlants
#Introduction She/Her. Very much still learning the mastodon/fedi ropes! Central Indiana natural history enthusiast and co-owner/#photographer @Nativeplantsunlimited . Mostly boosts posts, will occasionally gush abt #naturalhistory, my various #handcrafts, #pets, and #houseplants. I don’t mind answering questions in the comments!

Ever known a single hyacinth bulb have 2 flowers in succession? Grandchild gave me this for my birthday and the smell has been divine. Now we have this little bonus #gardening #houseplants

Prolly jinxing myself but of all things an amaryllis bulb I got in 2020 finally decided to bud! That's my freesia in back. Got it in 2021. It's only bloomed once but hoping this year. Smells marvelous! Split up my succulent pups from mom for more space.
Pinguicula laxifolia is flowering. The plant itself is out of focus in the background; the butterwort in the foreground is a spontaneous leaf bud off of a Pinguicula moranensis plant. The flower is about half an inch across.
Mad Max, my carnivorous swamp buddy is trying to bloom.

I haven't grown orchids, so I'll take your word for it. When I use tap water for my plants, I fill the watering can and let it sit until the next day,, so that the chlorine evaporates and it's at room temperature.
Happy Monday everyone! My house plants look a lot better after I took them outside for a day in the mist and rain. I love having greenery in the house. I spend a lot of time indoors so I like to spend some time to tend to them and make my space feel special. #housePlants
My Schlumbergera has gifted me another blooming yr so time for an annual portrait.
Went a bit bokeh-fied (f/3.5) this yr. Such wonderful 3-D shape and that magenta really heats up a room. I like my new
pot 2.
Was a bit worried my Schlumbergera wasn't going to produce flowers this yr. While watering it yesterday I noticed new (& some older,
) buds that I didn't notice previously. This will be 4 yrs in a row for flowers so it seems as if it's still happy & thriving
