@jeffowski Only one word can describe #JKRowling accurately: cunt.
She is such a hypocrite. She created books with basically only white characters. When a black actress was selected to play Hermione at the theatre in London, JKR came to defend the director, she had no prejudice etc.. so why the fuck didn't she write black, Asian whatever characters in the first place?
If 98% of the characters are white, heterosexual etc, it says a lot about the author.

In an earlier interview with Salon, Daub argued that accusations of "cancel culture" are typically aimed at younger or lower-status people, specifically so higher-status folks don't have "to reflect on their own practices." It's "cancel culture" when Elon Musk or JK Rowling is criticized for transphobic rhetoric, but not when billionaires or Republican politicians focus public anger on ordinary people who don't conform to gender norms. The outrage at no-contact adult children appears to follow the same model... Cohn, the parent influencer, says that her daughter "didn’t want for anything, materially," and mentions an occasion when she prevented her daughter from choking, seemingly as evidence that she has earned a continuing relationship. Similar logic is echoed throughout anti-estrangement articles, ...noting that "estranged children are likely to lose access to financial & emotional resources." No equivalence is drawn the parent side, even though... a parent who refuses to make peace w/an adult child runs the emotional risk of losing that relationship permanently. Once again, the implicit assumption is that the lower-status person has a duty to maintain or restore harmony.

You still see a lot of #HarryPotter merchandise around and I do wonder how much #JKRowling has damaged her own brand.

I mean, things naturally go out of fashion, so it's hard to say if it's just newer generations interested in something else instead.

But her ghastly Fantastic Beasts crap is lousy and convoluted and I've no interest in that at all. I imagine a load of kids not being interested in it too.

But then, I assume kids like all those crappy superhero movies, so idk.

I'm in two minds of this.

Not only does it prove how evil Kemi #Badenoch is, as an (alleged) human being, and who clearly took the 'Equalities' role just so that she could hurt people, but giving #Rowling a peerage would also show even more how that whole system is corrupt and worthless.
