I have of course all options disabled in car. There is no way that I trust them with such data they already got hacked once.
Today they update the app to make you turn everything back on in the car otherwise you loose all capabilities.

This achievement is not only BYD UK’s most successful quarter since the company introduced passenger cars in March 2023, but also means the company sold more cars in the most recent quarter than the whole of 2024 combined.
The Labour Government was going to be so “green”.
Starmer quickly dropped the green investment promise and now he intends to let motor manufacturers off their targets for selling #EV cars.
If motor manufacturers want help shifting the metal the government should be incentivising the purchase of EVs.
Oh, JLR don’t currently make any EVs.

@ferryoons @Peternimmo I went to a presentation a few years ago which suggested that as #EV batteries & the vehicles get smarter then there's likely to be potential for the EV batteries themselves to smooth out the load on the grid.
The proposal was that car batteries (in sufficient numbers) could store electricity when it is cheap & plentiful and release it back into the grid as required. (Requiring cars to be plugged in at home all the time when they aren't in use or course).
Naturally, this also applies to home battery storage - and it's all on a much smaller scale than industrial grid battery storage.
The fly in the ointment appears to be the capacity of the grid (power lines and substations) to cope with the changing demands.
Of course, this presentation (it might have been by Uber) was before the crazy demands being put on electricity generation by data centres.

I have never been a fan of Teslas. I am a fan of EVs, however, and there is just a lot of quality vehicles out there and most of them have a dashboard, which IMHO should be a requirement, as well as normal placement of things like turn signal controls and window wiper controls.
I know some of you just dislike cars in general and I respect that. I love walking and biking as well, but sometimes I need to drive and then I prefer EVs.

Hey folks. The car insurance and loan vultures are circling again for their respective pounds of flesh.
