Just had the loveliest experience while getting my watch strap resized at Silver Phoenix in Bray. They’re a tiny, independent two-person jewellers – Martin and Joleta – and they took such care (Martin resized it three times and did a micro-adjustment and then undid it until we found the perfect fit).
In a world of faceless corporations you forget sometimes how lovely people can be.
So if you’re looking for jewellery, a watch, wallet or pen (or repairs/sizing/etc.), give them a shout and support a tiny local business that’s been going for five years now.

Dear fediverse , what kind of a connector is this?
40 pin, 0.5mm pitch, motherboard side, going to an eDP display panel.
I'd like to buy the socket, but nothing I've seen quite matches the shape.
The work is ever evolving, and now I'm doing code as well, but here's some preliminary icons for a project that I've been working with under @kleb for some time now, that uses the open repair data standard, aiming to help the repair industry.

Feels weird to realize I've nver actually repaired my own clothes before! Other people have, for me. Just haven't actually done it myself. It's certainly not the prettiest hand-sewing job but for a first go, I'm pretty happy with it.

Today I tried to get my iPhone 5c fixed (broken screen and dodgy battery) only to be told at the shop (iSmash) that my phone was "too old for repair"!!
I bought it in 2017 and would prefer to fix it rather than get a new one. Surely there is somewhere in #London that would #repair my phone (the Apple website considered the phone 'obsolete').
Anyone with any ideas please?
