"The leader principle, or in German Führerprinzip, is the idea that a single individual directly represents the people, and that therefore all of his actions are by definition legal and proper. In discussions in the #White /House and thereafter, we see this notion being advanced.

Well, what do you call this then? No need for an answer... 🤬

The #Trump administration has been fighting for days against a judge’s order to return a wrongfully deported Maryland man to the United States. But this meeting in the Oval Office was the most clear example yet that Trump had no intention of returning Kilmar Armando Abrego #Garcia to the United States, despite the #SupremeCourt instructions the U.S. government to take steps to return the Salvadoran migrant. Trump and Stephen Miller essentially scoffed at the Supreme Court’s ability to direct the administration to take any action on foreign policy and made clear that if anyone was going to return Garcia to the United States, it would have to be #Bukele. Bukele rejected any notion he would return the father of three who has no criminal record.

In the largest single deployment of #stealth #bombers in U.S. history,
the Pentagon has sent six B-2 “Spirit” aircraft to #Diego #Garcia in the Indian Ocean.

The long-range bombers, which are uniquely suited to evade Iranian air defenses and can carry America’s most potent bunker busting weapons,
flew in from Missouri last week in a little noticed operation.

The B-2s carry not just bombs, but a message for #Iran:
“do you see our sword?,” as one retired general told Newsmax this week

Trump hasn’t been shy in threatening Iran,
saying that if Tehran doesn’t close the door on a nuclear capability
they will experience
“bombing the likes of which they haven’t seen.”

“Hell” will “rain down” on the country,
Trump has also said.

Just today,
amidst the stock market meltdown
Trump again reiterated his threat,
saying that
“doing a deal would be preferable to doing the obvious”
— which to the president is undertaking a massive strike.

Blatant as the threat is,
the U.S. government has not otherwise publicly acknowledged the bomber buildup.

Though B-2 bombers were used to carry out strikes on underground Houthi facilities in Yemen
(both under the Biden and Trump administration),

the forward deployment of the bombers to the island of Diego Garcia was only reported when
commercial satellite images of the airbase there revealed the six B-2's on the runway.

The U.S. government’s decision to arrest a Maryland man and send him to a notorious prison in El Salvador appears to be
“wholly lawless,”
federal judge #Paula #Xinis wrote Sunday in a legal opinion explaining why she had ordered the Trump administration to bring him back to the United States.
There is little to no evidence to support a “vague, uncorroborated” allegation that #Kilmar #Abrego #Garcia was once in the MS-13 street gang,
U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis wrote.
And in any case, she said, an immigration judge had expressly barred the U.S. in 2019 from deporting Abrego Garcia to El Salvador, where he faced likely persecution by local gangs.

“As defendants acknowledge, they had no legal authority to arrest him,
no justification to detain him,
and no grounds to send him to El Salvador
— let alone deliver him into one of the most dangerous prisons in the Western Hemisphere,” Xinis wrote.
She said it was “eye-popping” that the government had argued that it could not be forced to bring Abrego Garcia back because he is no longer in U.S. custody.
“They do indeed cling to the stunning proposition that they can forcibly remove any person
— migrant and U.S. citizen alike
—to prisons outside the United States,
and then baldly assert they have no way to effectuate return
because they are no longer the ‘custodian,’ and the Court thus lacks jurisdiction,” Xinis wrote.
“As a practical matter, the facts say otherwise.”

AP News · Judge again orders return of man mistakenly deported to El SalvadorA federal judge says the U.S. government’s decision to arrest a Maryland man and send him to a notorious prison in El Salvador appears to be “wholly lawless.” U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis issued a legal opinion Sunday explaining why she had ordered the Trump administration to bring Kilmar Abrego Garcia back to the United States. Abrego Garcia is a 29-year-old Salvadoran national. He was arrested in Maryland and deported last month despite an immigration judge’s 2019 ruling that shielded him from deportation to El Salvador, where he faced likely persecution by local gangs.
