Peter Donde was a 10-year-old infected with H.I.V. from his mother during childbirth. But American aid kept Peter strong even as his parents died from #AIDS. A program started by President George W. Bush called #PEPFAR saved 26 million lives from AIDS, and one was Peter’s.

15,000 people have already died due to Trump's cuts to USAID.

SINCE 2003, AIDS relief through USAID had already saved >25 million lives. Trump's cuts to the agency could lead to hundreds of thousands, or even millions, more deaths in the next few years.

Measles has a mortality rate in poor countries of 3-5%. Without USAID, vaccinations in those countries will likely decline, increasing deaths, as well.
