Somehow, Charlie figured out it was 7:30 a.m. even after we moved the clocks forward for daylight saving time. I wonder how he managed that—perhaps Grandfather Clock gave it away with its chimes. I think it starts chiming at 7:30, though I didn’t notice because I was dozing in my chair. Come to think of it, Ben was barking outside the bedroom door before 6:00 this morning, his usual time. But how did he know? To be fair, sometimes Ben wakes up extra early when he really needs to go out. Yesterday, I didn’t even realize daylight saving time had started until I noticed that my phone and the other clocks in the house didn’t match.</p><p>“The sun got confused about daylight savings time.
