A little late for peak cherry blossom season this year, but I rather like this shot I managed to get because it visually highlights in one frame the ephemeral and temporary nature of the cherry blossom.

In from hiatus just to post this pic of a native plant called prairie smoke (Geum triflorum) that just started producing blooms in my garden. B4 opening the flower turns upright. When one opens I'll post a pic.

My allergies are in high gear so I'm assuming that means the red maples are blooming. Surprisingly I haven't taken many photos of their flowers. Have to take a look this afternoon to see if any have opened yet.
