There was a required spend to get the sign-up bonus and this is not from a referral bonus because I did not refer anyone in 2024. Did anyone else receive a 1099-MISC from Chase for their sign-up bonus? This card is not tied or used for business and is only used for personal use. Looking for some advice im very confused. So I have a very high credit card unfortunately (yes I know I know not good) but I’m writing just to understand this a little more. My minimum payment is around $230-260 from month to month on my card. I’m paying that every month as I can’t pay more right now. To give you an idea, everytime I get charged interest it’s usually around $220. Whenever that happens I end up going slightly over the credit limit due to the interest charge and then pay it down again the next month.

I filled out the initial form and got a pop-up that I was denied (no idea why). The next day while researching cards I got another offer for the Amex Business Platinum card for 200,000 bonus points after spending $15,000 (I think it was $15,000, but might have been $20,000). BOCVIP · US Bank backs out of removing the checking account fee waiver for credit card holdersI was in online chat with a US Bank rep today to close my checking account because of the removal of the fee waiver for credit card customers. The rep told me they rescinded the change because people were complaining. The change announcing the removal of the waiver was on my March monthly statement, which also increases the fee to $12. BOCVIP · Point people, what is your strategy for canceling cardsI have 800+ credit score, payoff my card every few days. Mostly I accumulate points on my Venture X and Amex Hilton cards. I am watching points people on Insta and want to be more savvy on getting more cards for sign on bonuses and using the cards more purposefully. If I get an Amex Plantnum, then refer my wife and we both harvest the points then what? Do we cancel and get another card? You’ve done a great job managing your account, so we increased the credit line for your account ending in xx from $500 to $3,000. Life is full of unexpected events. We hope knowing you have credit available—if needed—gives you one less thing to worry about. For context: I have been using ~50% of credit limit aggressively since the start but paying off full statement amount every month, so probably that helped. CC holder since 6 months, started with a Platinum Card with $500 initial limit as a new transplant
