Well shit. I did it again and scratched my own itch and barfed out another open source project.

A couple of years back I wrote a blog post about linking my static blog posts to Mastodon threads so that the threads can serve as blog comments.

I realise I never pinned that post to my profile, and I have since deleted the Mastodon thread, so I'm sharing it again. I'm pinning it this time!

I had already come across this implementation by Carl Schwan before, and it seems to work really well. Integrating it was fairly straightforward, and is already explained in his post. I modified it a bit to remove the dialog box and include the core of those instructions in the comment section preamble. Aside from that, I was happy with the original setup as a starting point.

British guy here. As much as I believe the general USA population are against trumps extortion of Ukraine, i still won't forgive this ever. Well, unless you some how rise up and stop him. Bit you voted him in, so it's on you guys. And I'm sure the majority of the world feels the same as me. Sorry guys, but karma will definitely come for you on this one.

Not getting all replies to toots. I have come to realize that it's not an entirely binary concern. Sure it annoys me knowing there are probably more replies to a toot. But, on the other hand many times it's just an echo chamber and polarizing comments. For or against, everyone is angry.

Imagine instead if we could merge what slashdot introduced many, many years ago. Upvoting comments. Given that choice I would enable it, and filter comment threads.

Tea Party and MAGA supporters did it. Don't follow their strategies completely, but DO LEARN FROM them. We All deserve better, even the Leopards Eating People's Faces party.

How many of them would have supported having their faces eaten if they KNEW it wasn't hyperbole or something?
Or if they took time to imagine and plan for the risks: their or loved ones' faces being eaten by leopards?
