James<p>My son recently launched a <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/WeatherBalloon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WeatherBalloon</span></a> with a <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/camera" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>camera</span></a> and some instruments. This <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/photo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>photo</span></a> is from about 30km up just before the <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/balloon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>balloon</span></a> burst. It's really cool that you can begin to see the curvature of the <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/Earth" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Earth</span></a> from this height and see the darkness of <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/space" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>space</span></a>. I was on an airliner in this area on the same day and saw some of the same clouds and frozen rivers &amp; lakes my son captured in his photos. </p><p><a href="https://sfba.social/tags/photography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>photography</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/weather" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>weather</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/Minnesota" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Minnesota</span></a></p>

Aleen<p>I'm going to rent a Sony A7C II; what lenses should I check out? Will mostly be using it for street photography, so size and portability are a big consideration, but lenses for landscape photography would also be fun.</p><p>Bonus points for non-Sony glass, as those are already well on my radar. <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/camera" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>camera</span></a> <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/cameras" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>cameras</span></a> <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/photography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>photography</span></a></p>

Dendrobatus Azureus<p>When was the last time you've properly used the camera on your Android?</p><p>No I'm not talking about the camera which points at the scenery, I'm talking about the camera which points straight to your face 24 hours a day every time you pick your Android up.</p><p>¿Well? I'm waiting. </p><p>About 990 out of 1000 people will answer this wrong. </p><p>The only proper way of using that camera is making sure that it can only record images of your face when you absolutely want to </p><p>That means that you need to put a piece of electrical isolation tape in front of the lens of the camera and it should be like that for most of the day.</p><p>Any other manner means that you do not know anything about securing yourself and about protecting your identity.</p><p>Do you consider it normal to have a barrel of a firearm pointed at your face 24 hours a day?</p><p>The question is rhetorical</p><p>Now please follow suit and do like I have done it for decades;</p><p>The only time when the camera is pointed at me, is when I want to; if I don't I either cover it, or shove the person who puts the camera in my face in such a manner that they drop it immediately, or else!</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.bsd.cafe/tags/Infosec" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Infosec</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.bsd.cafe/tags/Android" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Android</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.bsd.cafe/tags/webcam" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>webcam</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.bsd.cafe/tags/front" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>front</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.bsd.cafe/tags/Camera" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Camera</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.bsd.cafe/tags/networkSecurity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>networkSecurity</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.bsd.cafe/tags/clientSecurity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>clientSecurity</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.bsd.cafe/tags/OpenSource" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OpenSource</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.bsd.cafe/tags/ClosedSource" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ClosedSource</span></a></p>

Aaron Brick — אהרן בריק<p>Hello. I am performing some deeds for my mother-in-law. We found this “126” film and, before I try to get it developed, is it actually unused? In the window instead of a frame number I see parts of right-facing arrows, and the left side of the cartridge is heavier, making me think no film has been taken up on the larger-diameter spool to the right. I hope someone who has seen one of these before could confirm or deny for us. Thank you!</p><p><a href="https://mstdn.mx/tags/analog" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>analog</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.mx/tags/camera" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>camera</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.mx/tags/film" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>film</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.mx/tags/photography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>photography</span></a></p>

Introducing my smallest #film camera, a 1950s Kunik Petie 📷📏

Weighing in at a diminutive 54g, this petite old girl is capable of capturing 10 (probably soft focussed) images in tiny 14x14mm square format.

It was a bit of a journey to get her loaded up (modelling and 3d printing a spool, cutting a strip of 16mm plus backing paper from some 120).

Test roll shot in #birmingham,, let's hope there are some #photos on this when I develop 😅
