While we're on the topic of retro and iconic Headshok Cannondales: This rig was ridden in no less of a race as last year's #silkroadmountainrace:

Last day on my seven-days bicycle tour from Vienna in Austria to Bamberg in Germany. Again, like on all days before, mild and sunny spring weather with temperatures up to 18°C. I was really lucky this time. Several days I was riding in shorts and T-shirt. Now I am on my way back to Sweden with train.
You know what they say about when you take something apart and put it together again that some bolts will remain unused, for me it was the through axel that didn't make it in to the box.
Also I decided to take a bus, trains here don't take assembled bikes and since I had to disassemble it I decided to took night bus to Bilbao (probably the closest direct route to French border still 150km of riding to it).
It took me only about an ½ hour to put it there, probably bit bigger box and I am less careful.
Bin gespannt, was ihr dazu sagt!
Immer her damit! Ich freue mich über Feedback & Inspiration!

This 320 mile bikepacking route in Idaho sounds pretty fun. I am not (currently?) a bikepacker, but could see trying some sections of this.
1 an déjà !
Joyeux anniversaire Olympe !
Mon #vélo m'a accompagnée sur :
- 8058 km
- Paris - Athènes en #bikepacking
- Des cols et le #Ventoux en gravel
- Mon premier ultra
- Mon 1er nouvel an à vélo
Me répond-elle ?

I am unsure what to do next. The weather doesn't look that good in the next week but what bothers me more is the state of the route I would like to take. (Yeah they don't bother to sign them in Spain and it is really bad for EV routes).
So I am considering taking the train to the French border and start riding there, at least on the official website it looks like it should be fully developed with signs and stuff. It won't help with weather but it will be some change at least.
The train is from Santiago de Compostela to Pamplona.
Yesterday, I visited the Mauthausen Memorial. KZ Mauthausen was a Nazi concentration camp. This being my third visit, I had to give up after an hour; I was unable to continue thinking about the unthinkable that happened there. Just one good thought: In the museum, they show the bicycle of the survivor Stanislaw Kudlinski. It was given to him by nuns in Linz after the liberation, on which he set off for his hometown in Poland. A bicycle as a symbol of freedom.
Nearly finished planning a couple of weeks cycle touring in Ireland. Really looking forward to the trip. Leave is booked for the last two weeks in May. I was lucky at this time last year with sunshine and blue skies pretty much everyday riding from Kent to Orkney via Cape Wrath. Whatever the weather it's going to be an adventure.
If you have any recommendations or tips to share about the route please do.
