littlerachybI cross the streams and head up the gentle slope of Higher Hator tor, following the path along the stone rows. They are so impressive! Visible from a way off, with huge menhirs at each end. One, the bone stone, over 4 meters tall. littlerachybI start by skirting the edge of Whittenknowles Rocks, a medieval village that looks across to the older site. The definition of much of the huts and walls is still clear. They lived close together, huddled. AndyThis evening after I finished work, we walked up to the loch that the community woodland sits next to.Not been up there on foot before. Noss is over the horizon. About 5km there and back. An absolute smorgasbord of lichens and moss, and perfect little microclimates in the moorland as water babbles over the Bressay sandstone. Greenseer 🩷🐇Well, I made it home after a truly lovely long walk. 15 miles, from along the river at the base of the valley, up to 560m over one of the peaks and home. The weather was perfect for walking, lots of adorable lambs being adorable, and a couple of long pauses by peaceful spots to record videos with nice soundscapes that I'll share tomorrow.
