A couple of years back I wrote a blog post about linking my static blog posts to Mastodon threads so that the threads can serve as blog comments.
I realise I never pinned that post to my profile, and I have since deleted the Mastodon thread, so I'm sharing it again. I'm pinning it this time!
Veronica Writes · Threaded Mastodon CommentsAlready before I set up this website using Hugo, I wanted to integrate Mastodon comments into the posts. I had already come across this implementation by Carl Schwan before, and it seems to work really well.
Integrating it was fairly straightforward, and is already explained in his post. I modified it a bit to remove the dialog box and include the core of those instructions in the comment section preamble. Aside from that, I was happy with the original setup as a starting point.
