Liam
So, for everyone looking into email providers, I just want to shout out posteo.de for something that *every* webservice "should" be able to do, but frequently don't!
Pre-transition I was one of those folx who used a username that was legal name derived for *everything*, and my email account with them was no exception. They let you make up to 3 aliases with every account, so it was easy to give friends and family an alternate address when I came out, but I was not ready for the headache of asking them to let me change my username/primary email as there is no obvious way to do this on their webapp.
I finally got around to emailing their support team asking last night. Today they had activated a "change account name" feature on their webapp, which let me put in a new username, and it automatically kept my *old* email address as an alias so I won't miss anything sent to the wrong place. It was easy and painless. Had to update my client to the new username, and I was good to go!
I understand why that's not something to necessarily let people accidently discover, so I don't mind that I had to email to ask. But if you have a posteo account and need to change your username, it *absolutely can be done*!!

#email #posteo_de #nameChange
