On this and your previous toot. I sadly left proton after over 5 years of paid service. I use #Posteo_de . They're Germany based and a bit "off-grid". No email app, you pay in credits, no trackers, they don't need any personal info. You control what they know.
I've been using #LibreWolf for years and also #torbrowser. My phone, #Fairphone4 , is on #calyxos and I use their scrubbed #chromium style browser. I have no subscriptions; I backup my stuff via usb to my comp
What really pisses me off is that everyone thinks @frameworkcomputer and #Fairphone are glorious, when in fact even #Framework13 & #Fairphone4 / #Fairphone5 are objectively #Downgrade|s compared to what I'm currently using: [ #ThinkPad #X230Tablet #Fairphone3plus ]
The newer Fairphones don't have real #DualSIM and instead of a 2nd SIM Slot a shitty #eSIM and removed the #HeadphoneJack for no valid reason!
#Framework doesn't have #ToolfreeSwappable #Batteries so having more #offgrid range isn't done by a quick swap on the go.

Weil: zum Wegschneißen definitif zu schade, von der Ressourcenverschwendung mal ganz abgesehen.
Ein altes P10 dient bei uns im Schlafzimmer mit nem ebenfalls alten Bluetooth-Lautsprecher als Radio und Wecker. Das P30 habsch meinem Mann "weggenommen", als er sich ein #Fairphone4 besorgt hatte. Das lässt sich ja prima reparieren und wird ihn also noch ewig lang begleiten.
Ich hoffe, das P30 tut es noch 1, 2 Jahre mit dem derzeit reingemurksten Akku. Danach will ich kein Smartphone mehr. Da such ich mir stattdessen was vernünftiges Outdorr-taugliches, da brauch ich nicht mehr als ein Telefon, das... telefonieren kann. Klingt almodisch, aber ich brauch die Hektik und das ständige Bedröhnen nicht mehr.

I have these problems, too, on my #Fairphone4 #Fairphone. I've had them with e/os 2.4 and I still have them with 2.5.
I sure hope that this will be over soon; maybe Going is trolling us somehow?

I bought a Fairphone 4 as a part of my project of de-googling my life.
Playing with different operating systems, I somehow ended up with a phone where most of the sensors didn't work, even if they did when I got the phone.
I have a new Fairphone4, bought with Android but flashed with the latest /e/OS.
Screen rotation doesn't work, and photos aren't tagged with the orientation.
Other sensors seem to be missing too, like light.
According to the specifications some of those sensors should be there, but if they are, they're not detected.
As I have moved my banking apps over, I'm loathe to reflash just to see if the stock Fairphone Android does the same.

I've flashed /e/OS on a Fairphone4 and overall I'm very content. It is a great way to have less google in your life, and we can all do with less google in our lives :-)
I do, however, have a problem with the camera. If I enable raw files, it fails to acquire camera preview. That is the error message.
I've tried with the version of OpenCamera from F-droid, and it gives the same message.
I installed /e/OS by flashing it over Android 11.
Today I made another step on the way to a Google free life.
I've flashed /e/OS on my new Fairphone 4, and since I already used few Google apps, it hasn't been very difficult to migrate everything.
In the process I also tried PostmarketOS and Ubuntu Touch, but too many of my need-to-haves simply weren't there.
While I would have preferred a Linux system on my phone, the main objective was to degoogle.

After all, #Fairphone can do that too, and they provide a way better product with the #Fairphone3plus [abeit they #Enshittified #Fairphone4 & #Fairphone5 by removing #HealdphoneJack and real #DualSIM capabilities! (#eSIM doesn't count!)]....
The v2.2 update should now be available to ALL users of the #Fairphone2, the #Fairphone3, the #Fairphone4 and the #Fairphone5 on /e/OS, both dev and stable. Curious how the Fairphone camera app works on the FP4. /u
The much-lauded #Fairphone4 
camera APP upgrade from February 2024 has now made its way from Fairphone OS into #Murena’s /e/OS as well (for the FP4; video functionality still pending). Murena also brought 48MP/50MPx support to their OWN camera app on the FP4 and the FP5. /u

@lmorchard I'm still not a fan of #Fairphone cancelling the #Headphone jack for no good reason.
I mean, #Sony made the #XperieZ3 that was literally advertised for #Selfies in the #pool and that had a #TRRS 3,5mm jack so no excuse to not have on on the #Fairphone4 & #Fairphone5.
Maybe put it on a replaceable module or include some attached rubber pin to seal it shut when not in use...
