If you've never been a target of #eugenics by government - you should be grateful. You should use your privileges to try to help those of us targeted by eugenicists.

Why are more of you privileged & not targeted by government eugenicis monsters not doing much to step up to speak up for us - facing erasure by eugenics, by the same governments holding power over us?

WE NEED BRAVE COMRADES!
WHERE ARE YOU?

@MegaMichelle They won't do that. They won't even buy N95s so PAPR won't ever be considered. I'm tolerated but feel ostracized at work because I'm still protecting with masks, still keep asking for proactive masking - despite being shut down on that multiple times. I'm in a very tiny minority of covid cautious folks at work & in larger local community.

Unmasked plague spreaders repeat #eugenics crap from #BonnieHenry - our evil #BCPublicHealth officer. I HATE HER.

I'm suggesting that everyone else who got similar self congratulatory emails from BC government to take time to email too & let them know those emails are just infuriating people. They don't help us to feel better. It only helps to remind us that we have not been helped but ignored for a very long time. It is not easily forgiveable to be treated like you are disposable & not worthy of getting essential medical help.

They searched for 4 days. And I’m not saying they shouldn’t have, I’m just really confused about why one woman’s life was worth 140 people searching for four days, but that same life isn’t worth wearing a mask in the grocery store so she doesn’t die.

I don’t understand, none of this makes sense. I hope Pepper is ok.

“The authorities found the body of the woman, Elizabeth Pollard, about 30 feet below the surface on Friday morning after they used an excavator to dig into the sinkhole in Unity Township, Pa., Trooper Steve Limani of the Pennsylvania State Police said. There was no sign of her cat, named Pepper, Trooper Limani said.
The discovery ended about four days of intensive searching that at one point involved more than 140 people, including firefighters from 25 fire departments, Trooper Limani said. Timothy Carson, the Westmoreland County coroner, said it would most likely be several weeks before his office determined the cause and manner of Ms. Pollard’s death.”

Here is the second video: instagram.com/mattmcgorry/reel

"At least mask in the places that all disabled people *have* to be, to survive; Medical settings (doctors offices, hospitals, nursing homes, pharmacies, etc), transportation (airports, airplanes, trains, buses, etc) and grocery stores."

It's not just about you; it's about allowing disabled people to live their lives.

InstagramMatt McGorry on Instagram: "Video 2/2 If I’ve had a positive influence on your life and you value social justice, please watch both of the videos (in order). Especially if we are in community together in real life & are friends. Having these conversations 1 on 1 is exhausting. Educating people about a system where they hold privilege is often demoralizing/dehumanizing work while also trying to survive the impacts of that system every day. A main motivation in creating these videos was to more clearly see who in my personal life might be willing to take up solidarity without me having to deal with all of that emotional labor, and often, heartbreak. And if you are willing to commit to masking in essential spaces a start, please make your commitment clear. Don’t make us ask you. Use respirator masks that form a seal on the face like N95s/KN95s (no gaps & surgical/cloth masks are minimally effective). If cost is an issue visit @covidactionmap to find your local Mask Bloc. At least mask in the places that all disabled people *have* to be, to survive; Medical settings (doctors offices, hospitals, nursing homes, pharmacies, etc), transportation (airports, airplanes, trains, buses, etc) and grocery stores. Talk to other non-disabled people about the importance of masking, the way cis men have a responsibility to talk to each other about patriarchy. Every conversation you have is one less conversation that someone directly impacted has to have. Post photos of yourself masking. It’s a part of breaking the collective denial that nobody needs to think about CVD anymore. While public health should not be solely left up to individuals, doing what we can to reduce harm and the abandonment of disabled people is all of our responsibility. We don’t wait for the government to be anti-racist before practicing it, and we shouldn’t need govt mandates to practice basic solidarity w/ disabled people. I’ll be making an IG highlight with resources to prevent the spread of CVD (& what our govts should be doing). Look at my previous post caption for resources & people to follow. The first #COVID19 #data released by the #BritishColumbia for #Disease Control since the official end of the province's #PublicHealthEmergency shows #hospitalizations decreasing, but still near their highs for the year.

There were 175 test-positive #COVID patients in #BChospitals as of Thursday, according to the #BCCDC. That's down from 204 at the start of last month, but still the fourth-highest total of 2024, and more than double the 76 people #hospitalized at this time last year.

The BCCDC's most recent update showed 368 new, lab-confirmed #COVIDinfections in the province, though that number significantly #underestimates the spread of the #virus because most people in the province do not qualify for lab-based testing.

British Columbia · 175 in hospital with COVID-19 in BCCDC's first update since end of public health emergencyThe first COVID-19 data released by the B.C. Centre for Disease Control since the official end of the province's public health emergency shows hospitalizations decreasing, but still near their highs for the year.

From @thetyee

Gregory said the database is a good idea for some diseases, in particular for some vaccines that do protect people from infection. But when it comes to COVID-19, he said, the vaccine doesn’t prevent transmission.

“Relying on vaccinations as the measure of whether people are likely or not to transmit [COVID] to vulnerable patients is a very dangerous strategy,” Gregory said.

Instead, he added, it would be best if everyone wore masks in public health settings whenever possible.

Mitigation measures such as properly worn N95s, HEPA air filtration, ventilation and avoiding high-risk areas like indoor crowded spaces are “all variant proof,” Gregory said. “No variant has evolved to circumvent an N95.”
